The techniques published in the Atlas of Internal Fixation are usually examples of clinical cases treated following the proposals of the Manual of Internal Fixation by Maurice E. Müller et al. (Springer-Verlag. 1979. 2nd edition). Some of the techniques proposed on the 3rd edition of 1991 should not be considered for general application, but experimental and not advisable. Hence, the cases provided by collaborators may be included directly in the Atlas or be derived to the section "interesting experimental techniques". The cases not respecting the fundamental principles of internal fixation will not be accepted (preservation of the blood supply, anatomical reduction, stable internal fixation, early active pain-free mobilization). |
