Their reduction is easy. They are fixed by an interfragmentary compression cancellous lag screw and neutralized with a plate, either a straight or a T or an L shaped buttress plate, properly contoured and usually placed on the medial cortex of the tibia. The lag screw is |
preferably placed through the plate. If there is any bone loss of the cortex contralateral to the plate, even if it is minimal, it must be compensated with a small plate (double plate). |
