These are medial sagittal transtrochlear articular fractures of the distal humerus. Ref. Manual of Internal Fixation:

Anatomic reduction is required. One cancellous screw, placed from the medial condyle through the trochlea, is enough to compress the reduced fracture and stabilize the articular surface. A second ascending screw, or a

 

small plate, will resist the torsional loads and complete the assembly. Whenever possible (adequate mechanical stability), it is preferable to use isolated screws rather than plates screwed to the cortices.
